Whether you are looking to start your journey or aim for the pinnacle of the sport, our club supports the modernized Touch Football Australia (TFA) Referee Pathway. This framework focuses on game outcomes and provides clear progression through four key stages.
1. Affiliate Referee
- Target: New referees (minimum age 12) officiating local club competitions.
- Focus: Creating fun, inclusive, and safe environments.
- Requirement: Complete a 3-hour face-to-face Affiliate Referee Course.
- Note: Replaces the old Level 1 badge.
2. Representative Graded Referee
- Target: Referees (minimum age 13) progressing to regional/representative tournaments.
- Requirement: Complete the online Representative Theory Course via The Nest followed by an on-field grading assessment.
- Note: Replaces the old Level 2 and Level 3 badges.
3. State Graded Referee
- Target: Experienced referees (minimum age 16) officiating at premier state-level events (e.g., NSWTA State Cup).
- Eligibility: Must have held a Representative grading for at least 6 months and receive endorsement from your local club and regional body.
- Focus: Officiating in outcome-driven, high-stakes environments.
- Note: Replaces the old Level 4 and Level 5 badges.
4. National Graded Referee
- Target: The pinnacle of officiating (minimum age 18) for performance environments.
- Requirement: Consistent high performance at TFA National Championships (e.g., NTL).
- Eligibility: Must have held a State grading for at least 6 months and be endorsed by your State/Territory body.
- Note: Replaces the old Level 6 badge.
