Hills Hornets is proud to announce the Vawdon Cup Coaches for season 2021.

Womens Program

Mel Mitchell, continues as Head Coach of the Women’s Premier League. Assisting Mitchell will be Dave Nolan who needs no introduction in regard to his extensive coaching experience and knowledge.

After guiding the Hills Under 18 Girls to the 2021 Southern Conference Championship, Monique “Rare Gift” Nolan continues her role as Division 1 Women’s Coach, providing the crucial bloodline into the Women’s Premier League Program.  Assisting Monique this year is Jo Lawson, who progresses from Head Coach of the Girls Youth team who won the Div2 final last year.

Craig Beacroft steps into the Head Coach role of the Girls Youth team who he helped guide to the championship last year.  Craig and the talented Girls youth team will be faced with a new challenge with a move up into Division 1.

Mens Program

The  Men’s Premier League Team will be once again be led by Head Coach, Brad Curl with assistant Coach Phil McIlwraith.

Matt Lawson will also continue his role as Division 1 Head Coach, and will be assisted by a new addition to the coaching team, Rob Theodoris.

In the Boys Youth division, Hills Hornets are looking to enter a team in both Division 1 and Division 2.

For the Div1 Boys Youth team, it will be Australian Representative and Men’s Premier League Captain, Brad “Mitch” Mitchell, has been appointed Head Coach of the Youth Boys Team. Mitch will be joined by Assistant Coaches, Craig Egginton and Katrina McIlwraith.

For the Div2 Boys Youth, Mark Jones returns from a successful Junior Regionals campaign to be Head Coach.

Mixed Program

After successfully guiding the Hills Hornets Open Mixed team to a 2020 State Cup Championship, Manu Wakely will again lead the Hills Hornets Mixed program.  In the event that a Vawdon Mixed Division does not go ahead, Manu will head up a second Division 1 Mens team with players from the mixed program.

The coaching team announced demonstrates Hills Hornets’ commitment to providing an environment for players to maximise their potential.

Players who would like to be a part of the Hill Hornets’ 2021 Vawdon Cup campaign should register their interest.

About Vawdon Cup

The Vawdon Cup is a weekly competition conducted throughout the Sydney Metropolitan area catering for Open & Youth divisions.

The competition typically commences in mid August and finishes in late October.

Games are played on mix of Friday nights, and as Sunday double headers.
