Touch Football Australia and the Hills Hornets have great pleasure to announce the Hornets Junior Club Captain Ray Wehbe has been selected in the Australian Youth U17’s Mixed team to compete in the 2017 Youth Trans Tasman Series in Auckland, New Zealand.

Ray is only the second Junior Hornet to be selected in the Australian system after Bevan De Vries was selected in the U18’s Boys team in 2011.

Ray will travel to Auckland in January with hopes of continuing our recent success in the Youth divisions, having won the past four Youth Trans Tasman events following the concept’s reintroduction in 2009. Next year will be the first year that the Mixed division will be held in this format in which New Zealand are traditionally very strong across all age groups.

We wish him the best of luck in the lead up to the event which will include Aussie camps and not to mention representing the Hornets at Senior and Junior State Cups. I’m sure you will do us proud.

Also special mention also to Jackson Mills who has always been a strong supporter of the Hornets playing many seasons in our park competition. This will be Jackson’s second National Youth campaign and will be competing in the Boys U19’s division.
