Hornets All Abuzz
Last Friday night saw the Hornets fly into the semi final series of Vawdon Cup 2009.
For the first time in the clubs short history, two teams were left standing with two
weeks remaining in the competition.
Congratulations to both teams on a great season.
The Hills 1 team always had big shoes to fill after a solid year in 2008 and they have delivered.
After knocking off the Jets in convincing fashion to stake a place in the semis they were
confronted with the Sharks 2 team who shared the points during the round stage. This time it
was a different story with the Hornets scooting away with a 10 - 3 smacking with hot hands Andy
putting 4 in the trunk. This Friday they strap up against the Bulls hoping to put them to the sword
after taking out our fellow hornets last week.
The Hills 2 team in their debut season for the Hornets qualified for their position by beating
seasoned campaigners Liverpool 4 - 2. Struggling for numbers for the majority of the season, the
new presence had a stellar season going down to a red hot Menai Bulls in the penultimate game.
We wish to congratulate Jaime and her team for making it this far and hope to see you go round
again for State Cup.
The GF will be held at Tempe this Friday night at 7.00 and we encourage everyone to make an effort
to get down there and support the Hornets.
