The 2009 competition sees the emergence of three Hills Hornets teams tackling the best that Sydney has to offer. The Hills Mixed will consist of two teams in this years competition as they face the heavy weights of their divisions while the Mens team will mix a blend of experience and youth to tackle the skill and speed of their younger opponents.

Mixed Premier League

The Hornets Mixed Premier League team is showing that the numbers and quality are slowly returning to the Hornets nest as the affiliate is attracting attention due to the success of the Hornets last season. We are expecting good results from this team in the top league as first glimpses show that they contain a combination of skill and speed across the park. Wearing the Premier League colours consisting of the yellow strip this season we welcome the team onboard for VC 09.

Mixed Division 1

Following up a successful season last year the Hornets Mixed division 1 team will be aiming to match and exceed the results of Vawdon 2008. With a playing roster bulging at the seams this team will have their sights set on nothing less than a semi spot once again. Coached by Simon Kowald and skippered by Kylie Hore and wearing the maroon uniform we wish them the best of luck in the lead up.

Mens Division 2

The Hornets line up for 2009 is impressive with a record nine NTL players and two NSW player filling the books. The return of Anthony Dudeck and Brad Curl will strengthen the solid Hornets team with the leadership of Anthony Jack proving this side will be difficult to manage for any opponent. Adding to the years of experience is the youthfull Mick Waddington who will provide more sting from the Hornets tail.
