Hills Hornets Reps return with NTL silverware

The 2008 combined Senior/Opens X-Blades National Touch League proved a massive success with the tournament concluding yesterday. Coffs Harbour's BCU International Stadium was in spectacular condition and saw some great touch being played across all the divisions.

The Scorpions Men's 40's once again dominated their division, as they have for some years now. They went through the tournament undefeated and were triumphant in the Final against a gallant Hunter Hornets side by 3-2. They continue run of 39 games at NTL level without a loss.

Sprouley went into the tournament nursing a bad knee and came out the otherside with a hamstring strain but showed hills ticker to play on without missing a game while others nursed minor injuries throughout.

In the Men's 30's division the Sydney Scorpions continued to be the bridesmaids after going through the tournament undefeated only to stumble at the final hurdle going down 8-6 to a determined Sydney Mets team. The team and management will be once again left scratching their heads as to what they have to do to win an elusive NTL title after being runners up on six occasions.

Crackers and Mitch held the middle tight throughout the week as they held their own amoungst a star studded side who showed how touch should be played.

In a 30's team boasting 5 current or ex hills players it shows that the breeding grounds at Hills touch is as stong as any other sydney club for an affiliate of this size.
