Hills Hornets Junior Gala Day

By Hornet News on 02.05.2008

The Hills Junior School Gala Day will be held at Burnie Mullane Sports Complex on Thursday 7th August 2008.

The event will be run by NSWTA with assistance from the YMCA with the goal to grow Hills Junior Touch within the area.

Currently there are no junior touch teams at Hills with plenty of children lost to other sports such as soccer and league. With the development of this gala day hopefully children will enjoy their experience and continue to participate in touch football, who knows ... maybe the next Mick Sproule or Katrina McIlwraith will be found.

Hills Touch Association is keen to provide a junior competition within a year to help produce the next generation of Hills touch players that can filter through to the senior level. The goal for the Hornets is to introduce the first team to represent Hills Hornets at next years Junior State Cup held in February.

NSWTA would like to send the invitation out to all Hills players that can assist for the day, whether it be running the BBQ, canteen, refereeing or just provide general assistance throughout the day.

Anyone interested please contact Andrew Lees from NSWTA at alees@nswtouch.com.au or on 0408 678 491. Otherwise contact Brad who can forward your details on to Andrew.
