Congratulations to the Hills Hornets Mens Division 3 team who took out the Vawdon Cup
title last Saturday against Taren Point 4-3. The two teams were clearly the best all season
and was a fitting grand final with the Hornets eventually taking the title by the narrowest margin.
It was a fantastic effort as this was the first year that they all played together and shows great
signs for the years ahead.
Congratulations also goes to the Womens Division 2 team who also featured in the grand
final day but were outplayed by Western Suburbs 6-3. The team did it the hard way by facing the
magpies with only 9 players but performed extremely well to get so far in the competition.
This season has been the best in terms of results for the Hornets in Vawdon Cup history and our
first title since 2003.
All teams are hoping to carry their form into the upcoming State Cup as they face teams from all over
New South Wales in less than a month.
