Hornets slip in Croft Cup after 5 rounds

By Hornet News on 02.09.2008

The Hills Hornets have slipped to third on the table in the Gary Croft Cup for affiliates that have entered two teams into the Vawdon Cup for 2008 after 5 rounds of competition.

The Gary Croft Cup was added during the 2002 Season of The Sydney Championships and named after the great Clubman Gary Croft of Parramatta Touch Association.

Points are awarded to all teams who participate in the Vawdon Cup with 3 for a win/bye, 2 for a draw and 1 for a loss.

In what has been a dramatic turnaround from past seasons the Hornets have displayed skill and patience in both teams to hold off some of the more established and powerful affiliates that have hundreds of players to select from.
