Congratulations to both Hornets teams who finished towards the pointy end of the
table during the rounds of Vawdon Cup 2008.
The Mixed team will take on table toppers Liverpool Lightning in the Preliminary
Final at Bankstown this Friday night at 7.50 in what many believe will be a Grand
Final rehersal. The Lightning and Hornets have clearly been the best teams all season
and the arm wrestle is sure to continue as both teams flex their muscles for touch
supremacy and a finals berth.
The Mens team have come from the clouds to finish third in the rounds stage and will
also take on the Liverpool Lightning in the elimination grudge match at Bankstown this Friday
night at 8.50. The previous encounter saw the Hornets scrape home in a spiteful match
setting the scene for a hostile battle that will see the loser packing their bags
for season 08.
Best of luck to both teams this week and make sure you get there early or hang around
to cheer each other on.
