Hornets Largest Assualt at State Cup 2009
State Cup 2009 will see the largest ever contingent from the Hornets migrate north to Port
Macquarie to take on the best the state has to offer.
Fielding four teams and four referees for the first time ever shows that the Hornets strength and numbers are
growing each year, in what can only be positive signs for Hills.
For the first time since 2005 a Mens team will contest the Opens Division lead by Justin Sheppard.
Also new to the Hornets is the teams referee Fiona Saunders who has made the trek from Moss Vale
to help us out. We would like to thank them and wish them all the best.
The Mixed divsion will have 2 teams competing this year with Jaime and her team contesting the Mixed Opens
A division while Simon and his team will be contesting the Mixed Opens B division. Jaime has recruited well
since Vawdon Cup and will be a dark horse in the competition while Simon and his team will continue on from
the success in Vawdon Cup. We would like to thank the referees for the Mixed teams, Mark Montgomery and Dave Borg.
The Mens 30s team will be going round again lead by cracker and the ageless Sprouley. After missing out on
a quarters spot last year on for and against we are hoping that this year will be a different story. Representing
the Mens team in the refereeing stakes is Matty Bowcock who has supported the Hornets for many years.
